New Track

Hello All,

It has been sometime since I last wrote. I have made some changes in my life and I am so excited to share them with all of you. My biggest change is eating clean. I used to eat anything and everything. I am pretty sure my hubby and I were considered regulars at all the near by fast food and restaurants in our area. It was so easy and convenient with our very busy schedules. It became the easy way out. You know when you hear stories and people say "I hit rock bottom and knew I needed to change", that is how I felt with my eating habits. So here I am, and I am going to share my journey with all of you.

Previously, my blog was just geared towards fashion and seasonal styles, but now I plan to cover all aspects of my life. I love having a place to write my thoughts and experiences down, and share exciting things with all of you.

First things first, I started clean eating by following two amazing women from ToneItUp.com. Karena and Katrina are so inspirational and really care about their TIU community. I love that all the ladies who are part of the community stay connected through social media. This really helps me stay accountable for my actions and eating habits day to day. You can share recipes, work outs & pretty much anything with out feeling alone.

In just this simple change of eating healthier and planning out my meals I seriously feel like a new person. I love waking up everyday and putting my work out clothes on and starting the day with a wonderful workout. Its so rejuvenating. Before I would sleep-in just before I needed to be at my desk to start my work day (I work from home). I had no energy and found myself getting irritated very easily. Now I wake up early with plenty of time to accomplish a solid work-out as well as prep a healthy meal for breakfast along with every other meal for the day. This allows me to have so much energy throughout the day, and I don't feel as irritable as before. I am certain that I can contribute this all to my clean eating and working out daily.

Do I cheat and eat junk?? Of course! If I want a cookie or ice-cream I will eat it. I have learned to listen to my body though, and when I get those urges I know what to substitute for sweet cravings.

For example, today I was really craving chocolate. Instead of grabbing cookies or ice cream I made a healthy chocolate banana smoothie.

which consist of:

1 banana
1 cup of non-sweet coconut milk
6 small squares of cacao
5 ice cubes
& topped with
coconut flakes & cacao shavings

Take a look at the picture below and see how yummy it looked. Just wait until you taste it!

So like I said, my biggest problem used to be just grabbing the quick-fix, the chocolate cookies or the fast food meal around the corner. I have noticed now that when I eat clean, and listen to my body; I am less hungry and crave less fats and sweets. So, lesson to remember, it is important to know what your body is telling you!

Now that my eating habits are down to a regiment (and I'll admit it was a bit of a challenge) it's time to share my results with you!  So if you're interested then you'll have to dedicate yourself to a positive change, get ready to discipline yourself, and follow my blogs - I promise you'll see the result, but more importantly I promise you'll feel the results.

Our one challenge will be that we are approaching the best time of the year....the Holidays! And with them, all the seasonal sweets and dishes that are simply too irresistible to say no to!!
Well I'll show you the healthier side of things while keeping our sweetness!

Please reach out to me if you have any questions - I love to chat :)

p.s. try the smoothie recipe and let me know if you enjoyed it just as much as I did.

Splurge VS. Steal: Red Flats

RED VS. RED
Every girl needs a pair of red flats right?
Ok so here is the deal... I keep seeing all over social media the red Valentino flats (left in picture), and I was like "wow those are cute let me look them up". YEAH NO! These bad boys will cost you $695!!! Now if any of you are like me I couldn't stop thinking about these flats. I knew I was not going to buy them at that price, so my search began.

I really like the website Solesociety and I have purchased a few items on there before, so i began my search there.  You wouldn't believe it, I found a match!
Guess how much these almost identical pair of flats are? Ummmm $49!!! Yes that is right only $49!
Now to me these look pretty similar. Yes one is a deeper red color, and one has a strap, but come on that is a savings of $646! Ladies see you can find what you want at great price. No need to splurge on a pair of shoes. Use all that money for a few pieces! :)
Share with me some great steals you might have found, or maybe I can help you find a steal.

Must Have Dress!

Make a statement this spring in this stunning light weight dress.
Here in Florida it is already HOT! That being said, once in a while I want to wear something other than tank tops and sleeveless pieces. This dress is awesome for  spring and summer. The cut out sleeves make this dress very comfortable for those steamy nights, and the price is amazing too, only $49 at Nordstrom!
It also comes in purple. =)

Spring and summer is all about those light and bright colors with pops of floral. Showing your legs is a must too. You want everyone to see those sun-kissed twins in a stunning pair of pumps. Pair this dress with a pair of heels like these here. The single strap across the top is very flattering, and in my opinion very elegant.

What do all of you think?

Two Ways

Happy Day!

Sorry I have not posted in awhile! I have been such a busy bee these past two weeks. Below I have picked two of my favorite basic pieces and paired them two separate ways. All you need is your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans and a white peplum shirt (or basic white shirt)!

My jeans are from Target & and peplum top is from Banana Republic.

I love throwing on the perfect accessory with my basic pieces to pull everything together. You can not be afraid to express your own style. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, or want any advice. I love chatting about fashion, or really anything!

P.S. I can not BELIEVE it is April already!

Spring Must Haves

We all have our goto items for Spring & Summer, these 6 are on the top if my list.

1) Clinique 'Whole Lotta Candy' - These three colors go on beautifully, and are perfect for the warmer weather. They give your lips the perfect amount of color whether it is for work or the play at the beach.

2) MAC Mineralize Charged Water - GREAT product from MAC. I use it before & after I put my foundation on, and anytime throughout the day when I feel my face is getting dry, or just needs a pick me up. It leaves your skin with a dewy glow.

 3) Steve Madden 'Stecy' heel - Do I even need to say anything? These are so amazing in every way. The strap style adds such a dramatic look, and with the multi color fabric they will be a sure match to all of your colorful outfits.

4) Philosophy Amazing Grace - Such a light weight, but long lasting perfume. I love the clean flowery fragrance, and it is such a girly smell. I LOVE IT!

5) Kate Spade 'Park Avenue Sweetheart' handbag - I love, love, love this bag! It is the perfect size for everyday wear. I love the versatility of the top handles and the optional crossbody strap. Perfect for you spring & summer travels.

 6) Clinique Dramatically Different Gel Moisturizer - Is a must have to keep your skin moisturized all day long.

What are your top Spring items this year?

Sights Of Spring

Essie Nail Color in Watermelon

The weather has been so beautiful here in Orlando, so I had to wear my white dress and this amazing olive green J. Crew vest. I love the lightweight feel & versatility of this vest. I can't wait to wear it at the beach with a pair of denim shorts over my bikini. These Sole Society heels are so comfy, and the neutral color goes well with everything. Be sure to pick up a pair before the sale ends.

Who else is excited for this spring weather to come?
What are your go to essentials this spring?

Pink Stripes

// Two Funny Girls Hand Bag // J. Crew Necklace Old

When I found out my sister was having a little girl I was so ecstatic!
We celebrated the upcoming birth of baby Ella on saturday at my sisters baby shower. I knew I wanted to wear pink, and fell in love with this cotton pink striped shirt from J. Crew. It is extreamly comfortable and light weight for these hot days in sunny Florida. The cotton navy skirt just added the perfect touch to this outfit. It as well is so comfy.
Of course I have to mention my little hand bag, that I purchased from Two Funny Girls. The pink monogram goes well with mostly anything, adding color to your look - but it goes especially well with the pink stripes.
